My Philosophy of Teaching

I want to be a teacher because I'm really interested in helping kids learn. Specifically I want to teach kids to enjoy math the way I do. I want to be able to actually give kids a good education and make sure they understand the lessons. In thinking about words that describe the teacher I hope to become, I think of patient, trustworthy, and kind. The best teachers I have experienced are approachable and have the ability to make difficult subjects easy to understand. As student I like the challenge of getting good grades and having the opportunity to participate in softball. And as a teacher, I hope to inspire kids to do the same. I hope to create fun and interactive lesson plans that keep students engaged and curious, wanting to learn more. I believe the main goal as a teacher is to teach the students in an understandable way and leave the kids wanting to learn more the next day.

I want to have good relationships with all my future students so the children can come and talk to me for help, ask a question during class, and aren't afraid to be themselves and learn in a fun environment. I want to teach kids about important things so they can be very well educated and begin to like math as well as learning in general. I think the more kids are open and willing to learn the better the classroom will function and succeed. I want the students that I teach to be inspired to try hard and love to learn new things. In the end I want to be the teacher all the students hope they get.
